New Patient Appointments
All new patients must have a referral from their primary care provider or another specialist, or provide records from a previous allergist in order to schedule their first appointment
How long do New Patient appointments last?
New Patient appointments can last anywhere from 1 to 2 hours, however, depending on your specific needs, the appointment may last up to 3 hours.
We are cognizant that your time is precious and you will receive excellent care in our clinic.
Can I fill out any paperwork beforehand?
Yes! We have provided links to the new patient questionnaire, the record release, the insurance information, or the rash questionnaire (if indicated) within your confirmation email when you schedule with us.
If you cannot access the documents via email, let us know!
You can also click here to download the forms directly from our site.
What do I bring/wear to my first appointment?
Please bring your ID and Insurance Card!
If you so choose, during your initial appointment, you will be skin tested against specified allergens. Please discontinue anti-histamines 5-7 days before. Be sure to wear comfortable clothing (no one-piece outfits!).
If the doctor suspects you have asthma, a spirometry will be performed to determine the severity of your asthma.
If you have been diagnosed with asthma previously, a spirometry will be performed to determine how well your asthma is controlled.
What happens after everything?
You may be asked to come back in order to perform a Patch Test, which will only be performed if the doctor deems it necessary to test for specialized allergens.
After these tests have been performed, you will be educated on why you will use the medications prescribed for you and how to use these medications.
